NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 5 Northeast Community College women’s soccer team began their postseason journey Saturday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk against Scott Community College in the Region 11 Tournament Quarterfinals. The Hawks came out on top in the matchup by a final score of 14-0.

The Hawks came out on top in the matchup by a final score of 14-0.
Northeast (16-1-1, 7-0-1 ICCAC) stayed on their half of the field for the majority of the contest as nine different Hawks found the back of the net. Goalkeeper Hannah Thornell (Auckland, New Zealand) didn't have to make a single save in the showdown as Northeast will now move on to the Region 11 Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on securing the victory to move on in the tournament:
"I was really happy with our response to instruction today!" Miller said. "When we needed to make changes to our play, the girls did it. They adapted quickly and played off what they saw. That was great stuff."
Miller on the upcoming battle Iowa Lakes:
"Tuesday will be a tough match and the turnaround time is fast," Miller said. "We need to take care of ourselves physically and get ourselves ready mentally. Success will come hard, but I believe these girls can find it."
